Dr. Marcela Serrano was drawn to Family Medicine because it allows her to care for all ages, and get to know families. She has a clinical interest in women's health, pediatrics, adolescent medicine, diabetes, hypertension, depression, anxiety, obesity and weight management. Perimenopause and menopause have become new interests. “My son was diagnosed with Autism at the age of two. I can relate to parents and their struggles. I like to listen to my patients and I believe in treating the mind and body as a whole. In addition, she has earned the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential from The Menopause Society, the nation's leading independent organization dedicated to menopause care and research. This designation recognizes her advanced knowledge in managing the full spectrum of menopausal health, including hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options, and her dedication to providing the highest standard of evidence-based care for women navigating this important transition. An avid traveler and explorer, Dr. Serrano is active in sports - especially running. She is training for Half IronMan Boulder and has done 50-mile bike races in Mexico. Dr. Serrano speaks Spanish and volunteers at an organization in Boulder giving health topic lectures to women in Spanish. She is married with two children and the proud parent of a rescue Lab who goes by the name of Coco.
